In Old Kardamyli - Mourtzinos Tower
Old Kardamyli with the fortified complex of Mourtzinos - Troupakis and the typical Mani Tower of Mourtzinos is the most remarkable sight of Messinian Mani.
The first buildings were erected at the end of the 17th century while reconstructions took place until the liberation from the Turks. The tower house is a three-story building of defensive nature that consists of three floors and is worth climbing up to admire the view. The complex includes an orchard, oil mill, smithery, kitchen, cistern, outer and inner defensive enclosure.
Inside the complex there is a museum about Mani in which you will find interesting information about byzantine and post-byzantine Mani.
