The exit to the noisy Monastiraki square
The platform of line 1 is on the surface while line 3, like all Metro stations, is underground.
Besides Monastiraki, it is near to Psirri, Plaka, the Ancient Agora and Ermou Street. The station has two exits, one at Monastiraki Square and the other at Athinas street.
The station inside has excavations that are exposed to the public. The enclosed bed of Iridanos river, in which water still flows, stands out.
