Agios Aimilianos chapel, a ship in the Aegean
Whatever I may describe about this chapel is little, words and photos cannot convey the beauty of the landscape and the view of the area. I believe that with my photos I have managed as much as possible to give an idea.
In principle it is located in the area Agios Aimilianos in Porto Heli. The landscape of the area is like it came out of paradise, with pine-clad undulating hills ending in countless coves and headlands. There are many well-known people who have summer houses there, the most famous being the former King Konstantinos who lived permanently in Agios Aimilianos in the last years of his life.

Somewhere on the southernmost headland is located the white chapel Agios Aimilianos. Precisely because it is located on a headland, it has a large field of view in the sea, greater than 180 degrees. The islands you see starting from the left are Dokos, Hydra (they appear joined), the islet Trikeri with its two peaks, Spetsopoula and Spetses.
When the southern wind blows you have the feeling that you are on the bow of a ship, a unique feeling that when it happens I lean on the railings and think I am traveling, just like we do on ships. Sunsets, sunrises, and moonlit summer nights are magical.
A very good idea is to walk the trail around the hill, it may be short but worth it. I have taken several photos with the chapel either in the foreground or in the background, enjoy them below. I note that the chapel does not have this image today as its external appearance has changed.
